Chemistry and Biochemistry Club

cup_cakesChemistry and Biochemistry majors are encouraged to participate in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Club activities. The organization’s goal is to foster early professional development and interaction among the departmental majors. The club sponsors special lectures, career planning sessions, research lab tours, outreach programs, and social events of interest to the undergraduate majors. Students may also become Student members of the American Chemical Society.

Upcoming Events:

The chemistry and biochemistry club will meet the first Thursday of each month.  The November meeting will be 11/1/12 at 6 pm in Ekeley W166.  Join them for a discussion of undergraduate research opportunities in the department.

In honor of Mole Day and National Chemistry Week, the chem club will once again be putting on our annual cupcake sale!  Although Mole Day is on Tuesday, we will be selling cupcakes this Thursday, October 25 underneath the walkway between Ekeley and Cristol. Cupcakes to be frosted in the morning from 9-10, then sold from 10-12:30 or whenever the cupcakes run out. We will be decorating in the lounge in the Chemistry Department office in Cristol 100 (coming out of the UMC into the fountain plaza, go straight across into Cristol, then your first left is the office). The event is run entirely by the club, so please let us know if you are able to volunteer any time between 9 and 12:30 (volunteers to be rewarded by cupcake)!

If you don't have time to help out, stop by with your friends and buy a few! The cupcakes will be decorated as elements to create a veritable periodic table of deliciousness.

Hope to see you there!

Duncan and Zach
