CHEM 4431 (3) - Physical Chemistry with Biochemsitry Applications 2
Lect.
Principles of physical chemistry (second semester) for students in the biological sciences. Topics include quantum mechanics, chemical bonds, principles of spectroscopy, statistical mechanics, and transport processes with application to biological systems. Mathematical background (integral and differential calculus including partial differentiation) required.
Prereq., grade of C- or higher in CHEM 4411 or 4511, and MATH 2400 or APPM 2350, and PHYS 1120 or 2020, or instructor consent. In addition, CHEM 4711, General Biochemistry 1, is strongly recommended.
Credit not granted for this course and CHEM 4531. Same as CHEM 5431.
