Welcome to the Batey laboratory homepage!  We are a research laboratory within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Colorado, Boulder.  Our primary research focus is to understand the structural and mechanistic basis for genetic regulation by RNA.  We are now located in the Jennie Smoly Crothers Biotechnology Building (JSCBB) at the East Campus.  A view of the Flatirons from our laboratory:

Our exciting research neighborhood on the fourth floor includes Profs. Tom Cech and Roy Parker (RNA biology), Rob Knight and Robin Dowell (RNA bioinformatics and genomics), and Marcelo Sousa (structural biology of membrane proteins and protein transport).
